How to wear Dhumavati Gutika?
On Navratri, Holi, Shivratri, eclipse or any Saturday, after taking bath etc., sit on a black woolen asana between 9:30 pm to 11 pm facing south or the direction in which your temple is facing. Place a Dhumavati idol or picture of Maa Dhumavati in the temple or on a black cloth in front of you. Write a triangle (with the angle facing downwards) in a plate in front of the idol and write “Dhoomavatye Namah” in the middle of the triangle.
Place Dhumavati Gutika on the written mantra. Place 10 betel nuts in the form of ten Mahavidyas in ten directions around the Gutika. Apply vermilion tilak on each betel nut. Light a lamp of pure oil in front of the Gutika and worship with red flowers, fruits, sweets, vermilion etc.
After worship, chant 11 mala of Dhumavati mantra with Dhumavati rosary. After this, you can place Dhumavati Gutika in your home, shop or office for protection, or wear it in your neck. From the next day onwards, chant 3 rounds of Dhumavati Mantra for 21 days.

नवरात्रि, होली, शिवरात्रि, ग्रहण या किसी भी शनिवार को स्नान आदि करके रात्रि के समय 9:30 बजे से 11 बजे के बीच, काले ऊनि आसन पर दक्षिण दिशा की तरफ मुख करके या फिर आपका मंदिर जिस दिशा की तरफ हो, उस दिशा की ओर मुह करके बैठ जाए, मंदिर में या अपने सामने काले वस्त्र पर, माँ की धूमावती मूर्ति या धूमावती चित्र रखें, मूर्ति के सामने एक थाली में त्रिकोण (जिसमे कोण निचे की तरफ हो) उस त्रिकोण के बीच में “धूमावत्यै नम:” लिखें।
लिखे हुए मन्त्र के उपर धूमावती गुटिका को स्थापित करें। गुटिका के चारों तरफ, दस दिशाओं में, दस महाविद्या स्वरूप 10 सुपारी रखें, प्रत्येक सुपारी पर सिंदूर से तिलक करें, गुटिका के सामने शुद्ध तेल का दीपक जलाकर, लाल फुल, फल, मिठाई, सिंदूर आदि से पूजन करें।
