Regarding the appropriation of Durgasaptashati’s 700 mantras, one can easily become suspicious, because the method of reciting in this way is often not in vogue. In the book there is a distinction between the Katyayani commentary in the order of mantra at 220-230 places, so the trust of those shloka mantras is also different from the earlier commentary. The seeds of all mantras are in the same order as in the independently practiced Beejatmak Saptashati. There is difference in 4-5 places. दुर्गासप्तशती के 700 मन्त्रों के विनियोगादि के विषय में सहज ही शंका बन सकती है, क्योंकि इस तरह से पाठ करने की विधि प्राय: प्रचलन में नहीं है। पुस्तक में कात्यायनी टीका से 220-230 स्थानों पर मन्त्र के क्रम में पाठान्तर भेद है, अत: उन श्लोक मन्त्रों के न्यास भी पूर्व टीका से भिन्न है। सभी मन्त्रों के बीज उसी क्रम से है जैसे स्वतंत्र रूप से प्रचलित बीजात्मक सप्तशती में है। 4-5 स्थानों पर भेद है। ध्यान मन्त्रों की पुनरावृत्ति कम करने का प्रयास किया गया है। इसके लिए आधार विनियोग में लिखी शक्ति, महाविद्या तथा मंत्रार्थ को लिया गया है। कहीं कहीं मन्त्र के भावार्थ के अनुसार देवता का ध्यान दिया गया है। जैसे ब्रह्मादि शक्तियों के विभिन्न ध्यान, सर्वमंगल मांगल्ये..हेतु सर्व मंगला देवी का ध्यान, रोगान शेषान..हेतु मृत्युहारा देवी, धनप्रद मन्त्रों में धनदा देवी का ध्यान आदि। इस प्रकार की मूल प्रतिलिपि के अलावा 200-225 ध्यान मन्त्रों का समावेश अधिक किया गया है जिसके लिए कई तन्त्र ग्रन्थों का सहारा लिया गया। उवाच स्थल पर होम विधान तथा अन्य तांत्रिक द्रव्य होम का समावेश किया है।
