To this end, two aspects of the highest Reality are there: the unqualified and the qualified. The unqualified aspect is challenging for individuals to access, as noted in the Bhagavad Gita. In contrast, the qualified aspect pertains to either a male or female representation. This is why the highest reality is articulated in sacred texts.

Both the Agamas and Tantras depict this Reality as a personal deity, whether male or female, who has perpetual involvement in the processes of creation, preservation, and dissolution of the universe while maintaining a connection to the Vedas. The Agamas refer to the highest Reality through the male aspect, identifying it as Siva. Whereas the Tantras encompass both male and female representations. Those Tantras that emphasize the female aspect are famous as Sakta Tantras. Besides, from their perspective, the highest Reality people celebrate under the name of Mahatripurasundari.
