Shaktanandtarangini Book (शाक्तानन्दतरङ्गिणी पुस्तक): This book named ‘Shaktanandtarangini‘ written by Paramhansa Parivrajakacharya Shrimadbrahmanandgiri. This book first printed and published in Bengali letters with Bengali translation by the Aagamanusandhan Samiti of Calcutta. Late Sir John Udruff and Late Shri Atal Bihari Ghosh Mahasaya established this committee with the aim of publishing and propagating unpublished Tantras. Donor late Dwarbangeshwar Rameshwar Singh Bahadur was its main page patron.

For instance, its editor and translator were Shri Panchanan Shastri. In 1987 from Sampurnanand Sanskrit University, Varanasi under Yogatantra Granthmalantargat (Eleventh Purusha) they published another version of this. From the point of view of the book Shaktanandatarangini, there is a lot of difference between these two versions. This new edition of this book is now being published in front of you readers with a Hindi translation by Late Dr. Ram Kumar Rai. In this, he followed the Calcutta version.

As a matter of fact, this Shaktanandatarangini book, despite being the oldest collection of books. However, it does not make any specific criticism of philosophical views. In some places, specific posts have been explaining according to communal tradition. The author Brahmanand Giri has a collection of the secret formulas of Shakti-Sadhana in this book with the help of about a hundred texts to make it popular among the Shakta sects. Moreover, there is a promise from the evidence of the book named ‘Tantrasara’ in the edition of Sampurnanand Sanskrit University.

For instance, one can know from the flowers of each ullasa of this Shaktanandatarangini book that its author is Brahmanandgiri. He was a resident of Banga country and was born in a Brahmin clan. His guru’s name was Tripurananda. It is difficult to determine the place and time of his birth based on the materials available now. But his date one can determine by considering his famous disciple Purnanandgiri as the basis. The period of Purnanandgiri’s two books ‘Shatakram’ and ‘Shritattvachintamani’ is clear and famous. At the beginning of his book, the author also tried to praise their times as Shaka 1493 (AD 1571) and Shaka 1499 respectively.

शाक्तानन्दतरङ्गिणी पुस्तक

परमहंस परिव्राजकाचार्य श्रीमद्ब्रह्मानन्दगिरि विरचित ‘शाक्तानन्दतरङ्गिणी’ नामक यह ग्रन्थ सर्वप्रथम बंगाक्षरों में बंगला अनुवाद के साथ कलकत्ते की आगमानुसन्धान समिति के द्वारा मुद्रित और प्रकाशित हुआ था। इस समिति की स्थापना स्व० सर जान उडरफ तथा स्व० श्री अटल बिहारी घोष महाशय ने अप्रकाशित तन्त्रों के प्रकाशन और प्रचार के उद्देश्य से की थी। दानवीर स्वo द्वारबङ्गेश्वर रामेश्वर सिंह बहादुर इसके प्रधान पृष्ठ पोषक थे।

इसके सम्पादक एवं अनुवादक श्री पञ्चानन शास्त्री जी थे। इसका एक अन्य संस्करण वाराणसी के सम्पूर्णानन्द संस्कृत विश्वविद्यालय से योगतन्त्र ग्रन्थमालान्तर्गत (एकादश पुरुष) 1987 में प्रकाशित हुआ। शाक्तानन्दतरङ्गिणी पुस्तक की दृष्टि से इन दोनों ही संस्करणों में पर्याप्त असमानता है। इस ग्रन्थ का यह नया संस्करण अब आप पाठकों के सम्मुख स्व० डॉ० राम कुमार राय के हिन्दी अनुवाद के साथ प्रकाशित हो रहा है। इसमें कलकत्ते के संस्करण का अनुसरण किया गया है।

यह शाक्तानन्दतरङ्गिणी ग्रन्थ अन्यतम संग्रह-ग्रन्थ होते हुए भी दार्शनिक मतों की कोई विशेष आलोचना नहीं करता है। कहीं-कहीं साम्प्रदायिक परम्परानुसार विशिष्ट पदों की व्याख्या अवश्य की गयी है। ग्रन्थकार ब्रह्मानन्द गिरि ने लगभग एक सौ ग्रन्थों की सहायता से शक्ति-साधना के रहस्य सूत्रों को इस ग्रन्थ में एकत्रित किया है और शाक्त-सम्प्रदायों में इसे लोकप्रिय बनाने सम्पूर्णानन्द संस्कृत विश्वविद्यालय के संस्करण में ‘तन्त्रसार’ नामक ग्रन्थ के प्रमाण से एक वचन मिलता है-

॥ चन्द्रसूर्यग्रहे तीर्थं सिद्धक्षेत्रे शिवालये ।
मन्त्रमात्रप्रकथनमुपदेशः च उच्यते ॥

इस शाक्तानन्दतरङ्गिणी पुस्तक के प्रत्येक उल्लास की पुष्पिकाओं से ज्ञात होता है कि इसके लेखक ब्रह्मानन्दगिरि हैं। ये बंग देश के निवासी थे और ब्राह्मण कुल में पैदा हुए। इनके गुरु का नाम त्रिपुरानन्द था। इनके जन्म स्थान एवं काल का निर्धारण अभी तक उपलब्ध सामग्रियों के आधार पर कठिन है, किन्तु इनके प्रख्यात शिष्य पूर्णानन्दगिरि को आधार मानकर इनके काल निर्धारण की परिकल्पना की जा सकती। पूर्णानन्दगिरि के दो ग्रन्थों ‘शाक्तक्रम’ और ‘श्रीतत्त्वचिन्तामणि’ का काल स्पष्ट रूप से ज्ञात है। ग्रन्थकार ने अपने ग्रन्थ के प्रारम्भ में ही इनका समय क्रमशः शक 1493 (सन् 1571 ई.) और शक 1499 का स्तुत्य प्रयास भी किया है।
