Kala Maha Indrajal Book
Kala Maha Indrajal Book (काला महा इन्द्रजाल पुस्तक) is an old book with relation to tantra and mysticism. Ravan Sanhita contains the biography of Ravan. Here are the excerpts from the book. Ravan chooses the boon from none but men should he meet with his death. Kumbhakarna desired to secure the boon of ‘nirdevatva’ (Absence of the devas) but secured it by a slip of the tongue ‘Nidravatvam’ (sleep). Vibhishan chooses devotion to Vishnu.
On his return after securing the boons, Ravan occupied Lanka, drove away Kuber, and took his pushpaka chariot. Ravan further declared Mahavishnu to be his eternal enemy. Hearing about Ravan’s victory, the Rakshasas from Patala came to live in Lanka. Thereafter, Ravan married Mandodari, the foster daughter of Mayasura, and three sons, Meghanad, Atikaya, and Aksha Kumar, was born to the couple. He then conquered the whole world with the cooperation of his sons and other Rakshasas.
The Ashtadikpalakas (protectors of the eight regions) were under subjugation. He attacked Devaloka but lost and was imprisoned. Meghnad, by magical trickery, captured Indra and released Ravan from custody. Meghnad came to be the famous Indrajit from that day.
