Durga Sadhana Book
Durga Sadhana Book (दुर्गा साधना पुस्तक): In Sanatan culture, the worship or devotion of Shakti has been prevalent since the Vedic period. No deity is complete without their power, meaning the goddess. Even after the Vedic period, there is a history of goddess worship in the Puranic era, and currently, the same form of worship seekers most commonly practice. Under goddess Sadhana, the worship of Navadurga and Das Mahavidya seekers is primarily conducted.
Navadurga includes the nine forms of Maa Durga and, under Das Mahavidya, the worship of the ten different forms of the goddess the seekers perform. The primary scripture for Shakti worship is Durga Saptashati, which is from the Markandeya Purana. Over the past thousand years, the Durga Saptashati scripture has undergone various expansions by numerous tantra traditions.
Many types of sadhanas (spiritual practices) for Shakti are within it. The earliest mention of Shakti Sadhana is available in Maa Durga. According to the Durga Saptashati, Maa Durga manifested from the fragments of all the deities. In India, among the major centers of Shakti worship, known as Shakti Peeths, the worship of the Durga, people primarily practiced under the goddess Sadhana.
