Krishneeyam of Shree Krishna Achaarya Book
Krishneeyam Book is one of the Kerala texts in the branch of Horari Jyotish. Other major works are Prashnamarga, Prashnanusthan Paddhati, and Prashnayanam, which are available in published form. It is named Krishneeyam because it was written by Sri Krishna Acharya. While Prashnamarga and Prashnanusthan Paddhati contain a complete comprehensive and systematic description of the method of doing Prashna or Horari Jyotish. In the last verse of the work, the author named it “Chinta Gnaanam”. The author of this work was well versed in all the six Shastras like grammar. This is evident from his own statement, which he has written in the last verse of this text. He has also stated that he has written this text by taking many things from Jyotish texts. He has also claimed that he has not used a single wrong word in this text. Krishneeyam is an older text than Prashnamarga and Dashahayyaayi because the authors of both texts have given many quotes from Krishneeyam.
Moreover, the author of Prashnamarga has stated that astrologers who memorize the Krishnaeeyam shine in the circle of astrologers. Krishnaeeyam is a very popular treatise on question-answer in Kerala. It gives a lot of clues helpful in Nishta Prashna and Chara Prashna. It gives some different details about the Drakkanas and their lords. The details given about friendship; enmity of the planets is slightly different from other authors.
