The credit for writing it is a regard to Sage Jaimini, a disciple of Vyasa and the grandson of Parashara, who is the founder of the Purva Mimamsa branch of Vedic philosophy. Jaimini was a disciple of Vyasa and the grandson of Sage Parashara.

Jaimini is the main architect as the author of the Mimamsa Sutra and Jaimini Sutra. Currently, a total of 936 sutras are available in the four chapters of the Jaimini Sutra. The Jaimini Sutra is also famous as the Jaimini Upadesha Sutra. It is one of the important and ancient texts of Vedic astrology. The credit for writing it is attributed to Sage Jaimini, a disciple of Vyasa and the grandson of Parashara, who is the founder of the Purva Mimamsa branch of Vedic philosophy.

Jaimini astrology is entirely different from the Parashari method. In Parashari astrology, predictions are based on the Dashakram constellations. In Jaimini astrology, constellations do not hold any significance. This method bases all astrology solely on the signs (Rashis). The Jaimini Sutra is a valuable scripture not only for those interested in astrology but also for professional astrologers.
