Seeing this condition I was ordered to make a comment on the language, so in accordance with his command, I have commented on this script in simple Hindi language. It is a prayer that the scholars should not be pleased with the impurities, and they are satisfied with perfection only. The purpose of this treatise is that the person who has done good deeds will now be able to get the fruits, but after getting the fruits, man come to know about it, and not earlier. विदित हो कि, प्रथम प्रजापतिजी ने संसार की रचना करके स्वरचित मनुष्य जाति को सर्वोत्कृष्ट, बहुज्ञ तथा उन्नतिशीलता सम्पन्न देखकर उसके हृदय में वेदांग त्रैकालिक त्रिविधकर्म सूचक ज्योति: शास्त्र का बीज वपन किया, जिसे हृदय में अंकुरित होने से अन्य व्यास पराशरादि ऋषियोंने देश, काल, तिथि, नक्षत्र वार योग करण मुहूर्त्त घटि पल आदिकों के भिन्न भिन्न फल विशिष्ट होने के कारण उक्त अंकुर को प्रसारित किया जिससे मनुष्य जाति को अनेक प्रकार से उपकारी हो। कालान्तर में श्री सूर्यांशावतार अवन्तिकाचार्य्य वराहमिहिर ने ज्योतिशास्त्र में अपनी निपुणता तथा बहुज्ञता के कारण अन्य अन्य पूर्वाचार्यों का मत ग्रहण करके यह बृहज्जातक नाम ग्रन्थ रचा, जिससे पाठक वृन्द थोड़े ही परिश्रम में बहुत आचार्यों के मत के अभिज्ञ हो जावैं; किन्तु वर्तमान समय की ऐसी महिमा हो गयी कि, ऐसे एक सुगम ग्रन्थ का अर्थ भी बहुत सरल बुद्धियों के हृदय में संस्कृत के अल्प परिचय होने के कारण सहसा स्फुरित नहीं होता है। -Brihjjatkam Book.

इस दशा को देखकर भाषाटीका करने को मुझे आज्ञा दी गई, सो उनकी आज्ञा से मैंने अपनी बुद्धि के अनुसार इस ग्रन्थ की टीका सरल हिन्दी भाषा में की है। प्रार्थना है कि, विद्वज्जन अशुद्धियों में हास्य न कर शुद्धार्थ से संतुष्ट हों। इस ग्रन्थ का प्रयोजन यह है कि जो जीव ने शुभाशुभ  कर्म पहिले किये हैं उन्हीं के अनुसार अब फल पावेगा, किन्तु फल हो जाने पर मनुष्य को जान पड़ता है, न कि पहिले ही। इसके इस ग्रन्थ को मन लगाकर पढैगा और ठीक विचार करके फल कहैगा तो भूत भविष्य वर्तमान सभी फल का ग्रह विचार से कह सकता है। -Brihjjatkam Book.
