This plant became the worshiped form of Sati Vrinda. Lord Vishnu also gave a boon to Goddess Tulsi of Bageshwar Dham Kanthi. That she would be famous as the giver of happiness and prosperity. Moreover, Shaligram and Tulsi will marry once a year.
