किसी भी रविवार के दिन सुबह के समय 5 बजे से 7 बजे के बीच अपने घर में किसी एकान्त स्थान या पूजा कक्ष में पूर्व दिशा की तरफ़ मुख करके, लाल ऊनी आसन पर बैठ जाए, अपने सामने भगवान शिव की मूर्ती या भगवान शिव के परिवार की चित्र रखें, उनके सामने एक थाली में, रोली से “गोला” बनाकर उसमें रोली से, “ह्रीं” लिखें। फिर उसमे साबुत गेहूं के ऊपर माणिक्य रत्न को रखे और लाल कनेर पुष्प, फल, मिठाई चढ़ाये, सामने शुद्ध घी का दीपक जलाकर पूजन करें और निम्नलिखित मंत्र का 5 माला यानि 540 बार सूर्य मन्त्र का जाप कर इसे धारण करें।
