Adbhut Ramayana Book
Adbhut Ramayana Book (अद्भुत रामायण पुस्तक): The Adbhut Ramayana is a Shakta Sanskrit work. It is much more obscure compared to both the Valmiki Ramayana and Tulsidas’s Awadhi version, the Ramcharitmanas, which is the most popular version of the Ramayana story in North India. Scholarly analysis of its themes and textual history has been very limited so far.
The plot is truly remarkable. After the coronation, when the sages began to sing praises of Rama’s valor, Sita smiled. When asked the reason for her laughter, she told Rama that he had only killed the ten-headed Ravana, but his brother, the thousand-headed Kumbhakarna, was still alive. Only after his defeat could the justification of your heroic deeds can establish.
In response, Rama organized a chaturanga army and, along with Vibhishana, Lakshmana, Bharata, Shatrughna, and Hanuman, crossed the sea and climbed the thousand-headed mountain. Sita was also with them. At the battlefield, Kumbhakarna used just one arrow to cast all of Rama’s army and warriors back to Ayodhya. Only Rama and Sita remained on the battlefield. Rama was unconscious; Sita transformed into ‘Asita’ (Asita = black) and killed Kumbhakarna.
