Many scholars put up (Why?) to generate questions. “Why” in itself does not generate a complete question, so by putting up “Why” in front of something, the complete answer is not obtained, but only half the answer is obtained. A person falls while walking. The question arises from his fall itself that why did he fall? The answer comes that he fell because he collided with a stone lying on the way. The answer to “Why” is only this much, which is not sufficient. Therefore if how is combined with why then the answer obtained will be complete.

हमारे जीवन के साथ हमेशा ही असंख्य प्रश्न जुड़े रहते हैं। प्रश्नों की किसी प्रकार की कमी नहीं है। अक्सर हम इन प्रश्नों की उपेक्षा करते हैं। विद्वान आचार्यों का मतलब है कि स्वयं अपने आप से प्रश्न करो और इसके बाद उनके उत्तर खोजने में लग जाओ। जब इन प्रश्नों के उत्तर प्राप्त होने लग जायेंगे तब अनेक नये रास्ते अपने आप प्राप्त होने लगते हैं ৷ और जो दरवाजे अभी तक बंद थे, वे भी स्वतः खुल जाते हैं अर्थात् प्रश्न करने से नये रास्ते तो मिल जाते हैं।
किन्तु नये रास्ते हमें तभी मिलेंगे जब उनके उत्तर तलाश किये जायेंगे। अनेक विद्वान प्रश्न उत्पन्न करने के लिये (क्यों?) को खड़ा कर देते हैं। ‘’क्यों’’ अपने आपमें पूरा प्रश्न उत्पन्न नहीं करता है इसलिये किसी बात के आगे क्यों को खड़ा करने पर पूरा उत्तर प्राप्त नहीं होता है अपितु आधा ही उत्तर प्राप्त होता है। एक व्यक्ति चलते हुए गिर जाता है। उसके गिरने से ही प्रश्न उत्पन्न हो जाता है कि क्यों गिरा? उत्तर आता है कि रास्ते में पड़े पत्थर से टकरा जाने से गिरा। क्यों का उत्तर केवल इतना ही होता है जो कि पर्याप्त नहीं है। इसलिये क्यों के साथ कैसे जोड़ दिया जाये तो मिलने वाला उत्तर पूर्ण हो जायेगा।
