Under the reign of Sikandar Lodhi, the condition of Hindu society was not very good, as the shortsightedness and injustice of Sikandar Lodhi led to the daily execution of about 150 Hindus.

Due to mental and moral disorders such as arrogance, false pride, immorality, and hypocrisy, society has affected society. Besides mutual distrust, sensual desire, greed, attachment, and intoxication, society was heading toward decline.

People were losing their human character. Because of these moral degradations, a capitalist society would also fall victim to decline, just like the feudal system. In such times, Kabir Sahib inspired the people of contemporary society to build a human character with his powerful words that awakened consciousness and struck against the moral degradations of society.

मध्यकालीन संत काव्य परंपरा के सबसे अच्छे और अग्रणी संत कवि तथा सामाजिक सुधारक, कबीर, का जन्म 1398 ईस्वी में वाराणसी (काशी) में हुआ था৷ उस समय, भारत पर लोधी वंश का शासन था৷ सिकंदर लोधी के शासनकाल में, हिंदू समाज की स्थिति बहुत अच्छी नहीं थी, क्योंकि सिकंदर लोधी की संकीर्ण दृष्टि और अन्याय के कारण प्रतिदिन लगभग 150 हिंदुओं का नृशंसता से वध किया जाता था৷ शासक वर्ग के ऐश्वर्यपूर्ण जीवनशैली के कारण भारतीय समाज में अव्यवस्था फैल गई थी৷ जातिवाद ने समाज की नींव को हिला दिया था৷ शूद्र जाति को सभी दिशाओं से नजरअंदाज किया गया था৷

अहंकार, झूठा गर्व, अनैतिकता, पाखंड, आपसी अविश्वास, संवेगात्मक इच्छाएं, लालच, मोह, और नशा जैसी मानसिक और नैतिक विकृतियों के कारण समाज अवनति की ओर बढ़ रहा था৷ लोग अपने मानव स्वभाव को खो रहे थे৷ इन नैतिक पतनों के कारण, एक पूंजीवादी समाज भी फ्यूडल सिस्टम की तरह ही विनाश का शिकार हो जाता৷ ऐसे समय में, कबीर साहब ने अपने शक्तिशाली शब्दों के माध्यम से, जो चेतना को जागृत करते थे और समाज की नैतिक पतनों के खिलाफ थे, समकालीन समाज के लोगों को मानव चरित्र बनाने के लिए प्रेरित किया৷
