इसी उद्देश्य की पूर्ति के लिये श्रीहरि विष्णुजी को बार-बार अवतार लेने पड़े৷ सृष्टि को बचाने, साधू-सज्जनों की रक्षा के लिये, दुष्कृत्य करने वाले दुष्टों के विनाश के लिये बार- बार विभिन्न रूपों में श्रीहरि विष्णुजी को अवतार लेना पड़ा৷ इन्हीं अवतारों के माध्यम से ही धर्म और संस्कृति की रक्षा हुई और मानव मन में अपने ईश्वर के प्रति अगाध श्रद्धा एवं आस्था में वृद्धि हुई৷ अपनी रक्षा करने वाले के प्रति आखिर श्रद्धा तो होनी ही चाहिये৷
