For instance, these kavachas are mainly of seven types.

Firstly, there is a kavach that protects the king from injury.
The second type of kavach is – Amulet.
The third type of kavach is – Lucky gemstone.
The fourth type of kavach is – Shield of blessings.

In wars, any type of kavach, people, whether worldly or otherworldly use it. Moreover, our daily rituals and meditation practices usually involve a lot of recitation, worship, and praise. In the rare book ‘Tantra’, Shiva and Devi explain – “namnah shatgunam stotram dhyan tasmachatadhikam. tasmachatadhiko mantrah kavacham tachatadhikam”.

This means that reciting a hundred times the name brings a hundred times the benefit, meditation brings more benefits than recitation, mantra brings multiple benefits beyond that and kavach provides even more benefits. This book describes the detailed description of thirteen kavachas.

तेरह कवच संग्रह पुस्तक

सनातन धर्म में हमें बाल संस्कारों में ही एक शब्द याद करा जाता है और वह शब्द है ‘कवच’। इस कवच को धारण कर राजा युद्ध किया करता था जिसके कारण उसे कोई घाव नहीं लगता था। राजाओं के युद्ध इतिहास की घटनायें हैं परन्तु उसका प्रयोग तो आज भी होता है। यह कवच मुख्यतः सात प्रकार के हुआ करते हैं।

सर्वप्रथम वो कवच हैं, जिसे धारण करके राजा को घाव नहीं लगता था।
द्वितीय प्रकार का कवच है- ताबीज।
तृतीय प्रकार का कवच है – भाग्यवर्धक रत्न।
चतुर्थ प्रकार का कवच है- इष्ट कृपा।

युद्ध में कवच कोई भी हो अर्थात लौकिक हो या पारलौकिक हो उसे तो किया ही जाता है। हमारी नित्यकर्म उपासनाओं में प्रायः स्तोत्र वन्दनादि की बहुलता रहा करती है। एक दुर्लभ ग्रंथ तन्त्र’ में शिवजी, भगवती के द्वारा पूछे जाने पर बताते हैं- नाम्नाः शतगुणं स्तोत्रं ध्यान तस्माच्छताधिकं। तस्माच्छताधिको मन्त्रः कवचं तच्छताधिकम्॥

अर्थात नाम से स्तोत्र सौ गुणा, स्तोत्र से अधिक ध्यान फल है ध्यान से सौ गुणा अधिक मन्त्र लाभ देते हैं और मन्त्र से भी कई गुणा अधिक लाभ कवच दिया करते हैं। इस पुस्तक में तेरह कवचों का विस्तृत वर्णन है৷
