In an ancient book, ‘Hanum Dudupasana Kalpadruam’, it is written –  chaitra masisite pakshe paurnmaasyaam kujehani। Maulimekhalyayuktah kaupin paridhaarakah. That is, in the Shukla Paksh of Chaitra month, on Tuesday the Hanumanji appeared, wearing the loin cloth with a mantle of beam, in the period of conjunction of Moonlit night wearing cross threads. Among the texts, there are many stories related to Hanuman’s Rudravartar i.e. being part of Lord Shankar. According to one legend, Shiva praised Shri Ram Chandra ji and asked for a favor that ‘O lord! I want to serve you with a cheerfulness. ‘Shri Ramchandra ji said with love of Shiva and said’ Alright’. -Hanumadupasana Book.

In due course Shiva appeared in the shape of Hanuman, and became the chief servant of Shriramchandra ji. Goswami Tulsidas has addressed Hanumanji with names like ‘Rudravatar’, ‘Mahadev’, ‘Vamdev’, ‘Kalagni’, ‘Vanarakar Vigraha Purary’, ‘Manmath-Mathan’ and Shiv-denotative Names. – Hanumadupasana Book.

On one side Lord Shankar considers Ramchandra to be his adoration; on the other hand, Shri Ram worshiped him as Rameshwar. The meaning of writing Ram-nama on Shiva clinging books is also the uniformity of Hari-Har. In essence: these two are the same. Just the name, the nature and the quality is different. ‘हनुमदुपासना कल्पद्रुम’ नामक प्राचीन ग्रंथ में लिखा है- चैत्र मासिसिते पक्षे पौर्णमास्यां कुजेऽहनि। मौलीमेखलयायुक्त: कौपीन परिधारक:। अर्थात चैत्र मास के शुक्लपक्ष में मंगलवार और पूर्णिमा के संयोग की बेला में मूंज की मेखला से युक्त लंगोटी पहने तथा यज्ञोपवीत धारण किए हुए हनुमानजी का आविर्भाव हुआ।’ ग्रंथों में हनुमानजी के रुद्रावतार अर्थात् भगवान शंकर का अंश होने से संबंधित अनेक कथाएं मिलती है। एक कथा के अनुसार, शिवजी ने श्रीरामचंद्र जी की स्तुति की और यह वर मांगा कि ‘प्रभो! मैं दास्यभाव से आपकी सेवा करना चाहता हूं..’ श्रीरामचंद्रजी ने शिवजी के प्रेम से वशीभूत होकर ‘तथास्तु’ कहा। कालांतर में शिवजी हनुमान के रूप में अवतरित होकर श्रीरामचंद्र जी के प्रमुख सेवक बनें। ‘विनयपत्रिका’ के पदों में गोस्वामी तुलसीदास ने हनुमानजी को ‘रुद्रावतार’, ‘महादेव’, ‘वामदेव’, ‘कालाग्नि’, ‘वानराकारविग्रह पुरारी’, ‘मन्मथ-मथन’ आदि शिव-सूचक नामों से संबोधित किया है। – Hanumadupasana Book.

एक तरफ भगवान शंकर रामचंद्र जी को अपना आराध्य मानते हैं, वहीं दूसरी ओर श्रीराम ‘रामेश्वर’ के रूप में उनका पूजन करते है। शिवजी पर चढ़ने वाले बिल्वपत्रों पर राम-नाम लिखने का तात्पर्य भी हरि-हर की एकरूपता है। तत्वत: ये दोनों एक ही है। बस नाम, स्वरूप और गुण का भेद है। हनुमानजी का शंकर-सुवन होकर रामदूत बनना इसका प्रमाण है। – Hanumadupasana Book.
