Batuk Bhairavarchana Paddhati Book(बटुकभैरवार्चन पद्धति पुस्तक): According to the Shiva Purana, Batuk Bhairava is a group of deities whom people worshiped before beginning the worship of Lord Shiva. These deities were originally the sons of a great Brahmin devotee of Shiva. The Brahmin had pleased Shiva with his sincere worship and gave his sons divine status. Shiva then granted a boon that whoever wishes to worship him must first worship the sons of the Brahmin. These Brahmin sons came to be known as “Batuk Bhairava”. The first word ‘Batuk’ means one who is the son of a Brahmin’. The origin of Batuk Bhairava is mentioned in the Kali Khand chapter of the Shakti Sangam Tantra, according to an ancient text.

According to the scripture, there was once a demon named Apad. He had obtained a boon from Lord Shiva. The demon misused his powers to trouble every living being in the three worlds. Exhausted and worried by the destruction caused by the demon, all the deities reached Kailash and sought help from Lord Shiva. Hearing the evil deeds of the demon, Lord Shiva became furious. Thereafter, created an eternal fire body from his third eye. Other gods also deposited their power in that eternal fire.

शिव पुराण के अनुसार, बटुक भैरव वह समूह देवताओं को कहा जाता है जिन्हें भगवान शिव की पूजा की शुरुआत से पहले पूजा किया जाता है৷ ये देवता मूल रूप से एक महान ब्राह्मण शिव भक्त के पुत्र थे৷ उन ब्राह्मण ने अपनी ईमानदार पूजा के साथ शिव को अत्यंत प्रसन्न कर लिया था, और उनके पुत्रों को देवीय स्थिति दी৷ शिव ने फिर वरदान दिया कि जो भी उसे पूजना चाहे उसे पहले ब्राह्मण के पुत्रों की पूजा करनी होगी৷ इन ब्राह्मण के पुत्रों को लोग “बटुक भैरव” के रूप में जानने लगे৷ पहला शब्द ‘बटुक’ का अर्थ है ‘जो एक ब्राह्मण का पुत्र है’৷ बटुक भैरव की उत्पत्ति का उल्लेख शक्ति संगम तंत्र के काली खंड अध्याय में दिया गया है, एक प्राचीन पाठक अनुसार৷

शास्त्र के अनुसार, एक बार एक राक्षस था जिसका नाम आपद था৷ उसने शिवजी से एक वर प्राप्त किया था৷ राक्षस ने अपनी शक्तियों का दुरुपयोग करके तीनों लोकों में रहने वाले हर जीव को परेशान किया৷ राक्षस के विनाश द्वारा थके हुए और चिंतित हो गए, सभी देवता कैलाश पहुंचे और भगवान शिव से मदद मांगने लगे৷ राक्षस की बुराइयों को सुनकर, भगवान शिव खुनतिज हो गए और अपनी तीसरी आंख से एक अनंत अग्नि देह बनाई৷ अन्य देवताओं ने भी उस अनंत अग्नि में अपनी शक्ति को जमा दी৷
