Shri Chakra Yantra

Shri Chakra Yantra/Shri Puja Yantra (श्री चक्र यंत्र): Shri Chakra is a Yantra that is used in Sri Vidya. It is also called ‘Shri Yantra’, ‘Nav Chakra’, and ‘Mahameru’. It is the head of all instruments, and it is called ‘Yantraraj’. In fact, it is a complex geometric shape. The presiding deity of this Yantra is Goddess Bhagwati Tripura Sundari, who in Vedic means Sridevi, Mahalakshmi. Every achievement a seeker gets through the establishment and worship of Shri Yantra. There is a point in the center of the Shri Chakra Yantra.

Around this point, there are 9 internal triangles that symbolize Navashakti. By intertwining these nine triangles, a total of 43 small triangles form. The instrument of Shri Vidya has also another name ‘Shriyantra’ or ‘Shrichakra’. ‘Shriyantra’ is the instrument of Bhagwati Tripura Sundari. Shri yantra has also other names like Yantraraj, Yantra Shiromani, Shodashi Yantra, and Dewar. Goddess Lakshmi resides in Sri Yantra. Along with being a symbol of the origin and development of the entire universe, it also signifies the human body. The word Shri is in use to mean Lakshmi, Saraswati, Shobha, Sampada, and Vibhuti. Shri Chakra Yantra belongs to Shri Vidya.

Description

The Sri Chakra is the cosmic emanation of Parashakti, and the earth is one of its emanations. In other words, Sri Chakra is the cosmic form of Parashakti. It is a say that the presence of both Shiva and Shakti people realize in the Sri Chakra. It consists of five triangles facing downwards (resembling the vagina) and four triangles facing upwards. The five downward-facing triangles are the female aspect, and the four upward-facing triangles are the male aspect.
