कवच कुञ्ज पुस्तक

देवताओं के पञ्च विध आराधना के क्रम में कवच का महत्वपूर्ण स्थान है। उपास्यदेव के कवच पाठ द्वारा साधक को पहले अपने अङ्ग प्रत्यङ्गों की सुरक्षा कर लेनी चाहिए, तदुपरान्त ही मंत्रादि का प्रयोग करे। ऐसा न करने से मंत्रादि जप की फल प्राप्ति संदिग्ध रहती है। इसके अतिरिक्त व्यक्ति को गर्भ तथा जन्म से लेकर मृत्यु पर्यन्त अनेक प्रकार की बाधाओं की संभावना रहती है। यथा- गर्भनाश, बालारिष्ट, रोगभय, शत्रुभय, दैवीय प्रकोप, भूतप्रेत पिशाचादि बाधा, ग्रह बाधा, दुर्घटना या अपमृत्यु भय यहाँ तक कि पग पग पर इस जीवन में बाधाएं ही दृष्टिगत होती हैं। अतः यह आवश्यक हो जाता है कि इन सब विपत्तियों से आत्मरक्षा का उपाय। इसके पश्चात् बन्धु बान्धव, सुहृद्, परिजन, भूमि, भवन, वाहन, सम्पत्ति इत्यादि की रक्षा का भी दायित्व होता है।
