Kabir Bhajanamrit Book
Kabir Bhajanamrit Book (कबीर भजनामृत पुस्तक): Pioneers of the Indian saint tradition. While the Hindu saint community regards them as the disciples of Ramanand Ji, a community of Sufi saints considers them the disciples of Sheikh Taki Suhrawardy of Jhansi. They raised their voice against social conservatism, caste discrimination, and untouchability. They attacked all these social distortions through their verses, couplets, and songs.
Their reversals (or paradoxical statements) are also famous. It is a saying that in Kashi, near Neeru Tila, where their house was located, one side was occupied by prostitutes and the other side by butchers. Kabir used to hold Satsang (sacred gatherings) sitting amidst them. After their deaths, while the Hindus built their samadhi (tomb) in Varanasi, the Muslims constructed their roza (tomb) in Maghar. Their followers of Kabir are Kabir Panthis.
Among their writings, the Bijak scripture is the most authentic. Their verses are also compiled in the Sri Guru Granth Sahib, and there is no doubt about their authenticity. The teachings of Kabir continue to resonate with many, transcending religious boundaries and promoting a message of unity and love. His verses encourage introspection and challenge societal norms, making them relevant to contemporary spiritual seekers.
