Gorakhnath Book
Gorakhnath Book (गोरखनाथ पुस्तक): Gorakhpur’s name is from Gorakhnath, who was a saint and traveled extensively across India, composing several texts that are part of the Nath sect’s canon. The Gorakhnath Math is a temple of the Nath ascetic group within the Nath tradition. In Hindu tradition, Gorakhnath is considered a Mahayogi (or Great Yogi). He did not emphasize any specific miraculous doctrine or particular truth but stressed that the search for truth and spiritual life is a valuable and common goal of humanity.
Gorakhnath supported yoga, spiritual discipline, and a moral life of self-determination. That was the means to achieve samadhi and realize his spiritual truth. It is a belief that Shri Gorakhnath is the creator of all gods and goddesses. When followers of the Nath and Dasnami sects meet each other, they greet with “Oordha” and “Namo Narayan”. The Navnath tradition began due to Guru Gorakhnath. Guru Gorakhnath is the greatest saint in India after Shankaracharya.
