‘स्वमूत्र चिकित्सा विज्ञान’ कोई नयी चिकित्सा पद्धति नहीं है। संसार में जो कुछ भी विद्यमान है, उस सभी का खोजकर्ता ‘सर्च’ करने वाला एकमात्र ईश्वर ही है, किन्तु हां, हम संसारवासी मानव ‘शोध’ करते रहते है। ‘आयुर्वेद’ ईश्वर प्रदत्त वेद की ही एक शाखा है। मूलत: यही संसार की सर्वप्रथम चिकित्सा पद्धति है। आज संसार भर में लगभग 90 प्रकार की चिकित्साप परनामी द्वारा चिकित्सा कार्य किया जा रहा है, रुग्ण मानव को आरोग्य कर नवजीवन प्रदान किया जा रहा है। इन सभी पैथियों के मूल में ‘आयुर्वेद’ ही है। अस्तु ‘प्राक्रतिक चिकित्सा विज्ञान’ भी आयुर्वेद की ही देन है और स्वमूत्र चिकित्सा भी इसी से निकलकर आज विश्व में अपना परचम लहरा रही है।

प्रत्येक प्रकार की चिकित्सा पद्धति को मैं बुरा भला नहीं कहता हूँ, किन्तु उसका यथेष्ट ज्ञान अवश्य होना चाहिए, तभी रुग्ण मानव की सेवा सम्भव है; क्योंकि अधुरा ज्ञान खतरनाक या हानिकारक होता है, यथा आपके सामने कोई वाद्ययंत्र रखा हो, किन्तु आपको उसका यथेष्ट ज्ञान न हो, तो आप उससे मधुर ध्वनि कदापि नहीं निकाल सकते, जबकि उसका जानकार उस वाद्ययंत्र से मधुर ध्वनि निकालकर आपको मन्त्रमुग्ध कर देगा। इसी प्रकार यदि आपको पाककला का यथेष्ठ ज्ञान न हो, तो आप स्वादिष्ट व्यंजन बनाने का दावा नहीं कर सकते, जबकि उसका यथेष्ट जानकार स्वादिष्ट व्यंजन बनाकर आपको दावे के साथ अंगुलियाँ चाटने के लिए मजबूर कर देगा।

आजकल ऐसे लोगों की संसार भर में भरमार है, जो किसी चिकित्सा पद्धति की मात्र 1-2 पुस्तक खरीदकर स्वयं को लुकमान हकीम समझ बैठते है, जबकि बड़े बड़े डिग्री धर्म चिकित्सक सुयोग्य, काबिल ही हों, यह आवश्यक नहीं है; क्योंकि संसार भर के कोई भी कॉलेज अंकों के द्वारा उत्तीर्ण या अनुत्तीर्ण का प्रमाण पत्र देते है, किन्तु स्मरण रहे कि उन प्रमाण पत्रों पर दिमाग से काबिल होने का कोई नोट नहीं लिखा होता है।
