Lal Kitab
Lal Kitab is the name of a unique method and book of Indian astrology. Pandit Shri Roopchand Joshi, a resident of Pharwala, Punjab, composed this book and published its original version in 1939 under the name of Lal Kitab of Samudrik. Written in Urdu language, this book tries to explain all the nuances of Samudrik Shastra through 181 orders. Later, Pandit ji presented four other editions of this book under different names. It is clear from these editions that Pandit ji has expanded and refined each edition on his knowledge and experiences.
It is unique in the field of Vedic astrology because, for the first time, it has been in a book how some positions of planets in a person’s horoscope should also be visible in the lines of his palm. In other words, this book is on Jyotish-Palmistry, that is, these two different parts of Palmistry and Jyotish i.e. Hindu Astrology in combined. The books were in red colour. Lal means red colour in Hindi and Urdu languages and kitab means book. Also, traditionally in India, business ledgers have bindings in red colour.
