Durga Tantram Book (दुर्गा तन्त्रम् पुस्तक): A comprehensive overview of the new text titled ‘Durgatantram’, edited by Acharya Pandit Shivdatt Mishra Shastri, has been conducted. Shri Shivdatt Mishra Shastri has been engaged for forty years in retrieving treasures of Sanskrit literature related to worship, rituals, offerings, recitation, and study. He has edited various original and meaningful versions of the ‘Durga-Saptashati’.
Through the editing of larger printed editions of Durga Saptashati in a book format, usable original Gutka (small) and Gutka (pocket size), he has greatly benefited the devotees of the Saptashati recitation. He has also beautifully edited the Durga Kavach in a usable version along with a Hindu commentary. In this context, he has provided detailed descriptions of Durga Puja and the corresponding methods of recitation, such as Shatachandi, Sahasrachandi, etc., along with directions for these procedures.
Among these, the Durga Worship Methodology is particularly significant, which includes the worship of Gauri-Ganesh and the worship of deities invoked into a Kalash. Moreover, the rituals of Punyahavachan, along with the Shatachandi Vidhana ritual and the procedure for Havan, are there. That is in such a way that even a person with basic knowledge of Sanskrit can easily perform these rituals. A scholarly edition of the “Mantra Pratiloma Durga Saptashati” is under publication. Which is likely a text regarding the specific Tantric worship of Durga Saptashati.
