Agamas, in Hinduism, are a type of religious text. Additionally, it provides information about the worship of various deities, temple construction, and rituals. Agama texts are as important as the Vedas and are significant in various sects of Hinduism, such as Shaiva, Shakta, and Vaishnava. Agamas are sometimes referred to as Tantras, although the term Tantra specifically pertains to Shakta Agamas.
As a matter of fact, this text is in two parts: the Purvardha and the Uttarardha. The Purvardha contains a compilation of Tantrik Siddhanta, and the Uttarardha describes the Prayog-Padhati. The first part (Purvardha) consists of twenty-eight chapters that detail the creation process, etc., and the second part contains twenty-four chapters that compile worship procedures and hymns.
