Normal Shakun 4/सामान्य शकुन Knife: If the knives are kept in a cross position on the table it is ominous. It is considered that it invokes quarrel among people. Hence knives and forks are kept together so that a fear of fighting with the owner of the house is diminished. It is also said that the toasts should not be buttered with the help of knife.
If you are in love with someone or your engagement is already done, the knives must not be dropped from the table. It may break up your relationship. If anyone presents you a knife as a gift, in return gift you must give some coins to the person. This will keep you away from evil spirits.
Normal Shakun 4: Leather:
The leather keeps the evil spirits away.

If you dropped a letter to your friend and your friend dropped a letter to you at the same time, there is a chance of fight.

It is believed that after the use of the medicines. The vials or bottles must be returned or thrown. It is said that if not done so, the ailment will prevail.

Early in the morning when a person gets up and sees milk, it is said to be too providential. It is mostly observed in the villages of India. In total European countries, falling of milk is said to be inauspicious because milk is liked by the fairies and once they find it in your house, they don’t leave that place.

It is an ancient concept that if a mirror is broken after falling from some one’s hand, the ominous periods remains for 7 years. Why this concept is made, it is already went on diminishing in due time. It is said that the image is a soul of a person and when the mirror is broken his or her soul also breaks with it which is too in auspicious. Sometimes it is also observed that after breaking a mirror the best friend becomes stranger.
For remedies from such conditions, collect the broken pieces and throw the same in a river. In Europe if such things happen, they throw coins in the rivers. It is also said that never see your image in mirror in candle light and a baby should not be allowed to look his image till one year age. It is also said that the bride should not look at image with her bridal dress. But if accompanied with would be husband it is providential to look at the image.

For having regular money, keep the notes in different pockets of the dresses and never spend that money.

If early in the morning needle word is pronounced, it is ominous. It is also ominous if any needle is found with black thread. If during the stitching the needle is broken, it is said that there will be a marriage in the family. But in England it is ominous. It is also believed that if a needle is given as loan it is ominous.

Playing cards is known world over and is the most popular game. But in the coal mines area and among fishermen it is taken as suspicion. They feel that it is ominous and bring bad luck particularly when the fisherman is on the sea. Playing cards are also known as Devil’s Album. So it is considered that playing cards can tell the future. There is a say that even thieves never steals playing cards because it brings the bad luck. Playing cards are also used in gambling and for dishonesty some cards are specific.

Giving razor to any friend and relative is ominous because it signifies the end of relations. All over the world this act is considered inauspicious.
Normal Shakun 4: Salt:
Regarding salts there are many concepts. It is a known fact that if the salt is scattered by a person and if he does not throw the salt from left shoulder backwards, he will be in trouble. It is observed by whole world but the real cause to observe it is not known yet. In ancient period It was considered that salt was the most virtuous and dearer material. It was in requirement but availability was lesser. It is thrown by left shoulder because in the left side witches live.
In some countries of Europe scattering dry salt is considered providential but scattering wet salt is ominous. It is also considered that to save the children from evil spirits, salt is used. In Europe some people keep salt in the pockets so that they remain safe during the night from evil spirits.
Normal Shakun 4: Scissors:
It is said that if the scissors slips from the hand of a person, it should not be picked by him. Any other person should pick it and give it to him. If nobody is nearby, he can pick it and rub the scissors with hand so that the scissors become hot. Usually the scissors are made of steel which is virtuous, when it is rubbed it gets energy and the owner becomes safe from ominous effects.
If per chance the blades of the scissors enter into the ground, it signifies the death and if broken, the owner will be in despair. It is said that one should not gift a scissors to others and also must not accept as gift. If one has to take it, he should give a coin as return gift.
Normal Shakun 4: Flour:
As an omen flour is beneficial. If while kneading a little flour comes out from the plate, it shows that the guests are coming for few days.
Normal Shakun 4: Shoes:
During the marriage in some places, old shoes are hanged on the back of the bride and in the car of the groom. The main reason behind it is not known and it is impossible to find out the causes. It is traditionally believed and followed. This is also referred in the Bible. Now it is believed that this is not beneficial. The throwing shoes by the father of the bride and picking by the groom is a sign of giving the girl to him.

सामान्य शकुन चाकू: चाकुओं के विषय में एक धारणा यह है कि यदि मेज पर उन्हें क्रास करते हुए रखा जाए तो अशुभ होता है, माना जाता है कि यह झगड़े की नीयत का द्दोतक है। इसी प्रकार यह प्रथा है कि चाकू और कांटे को मेज पर साथ-साथ इसलिए रखा जाता था कि कोई घर के मालिक से झगड़े की नीयत या आशंका न करें।
यह भी माना जाता है कि टोस्ट पर मक्खन चाकू से नहीं लगाना चाहिए। ऐसा भी विश्वास किया जाता है कि यदि आप किसी से प्रेम करते हों तो चाकू को मेज पर से नहीं गिराना चाहिए ऐसा होने पर प्रेम या सगाई टूट सकती है। यदि कोई आपको भेंट में चाकू दे तो अपशकुन से बचने के लिए आपको एक छोटा सिक्का उसे देना चाहिए। ऐसी ही प्रथा है कि लोहे से बना चाकू जादूगरनियों और दुरात्माओं से सुरक्षा का अच्छा साधन होता है और दुरात्मा को आपसे दूर रखता है।
सामान्य शकुन चमड़ा:
चमड़े की लोकप्रियता का कारण यह धारणा है कि यह दुरात्माओं को हमसे दूर रखता है।
सामान्य शकुन पत्र:
यह धारणा है कि अपने मित्र को यदि आपने पत्र डाला हो और इधर से उसने भी आपको पत्र डाला हो तो माना जाता है कि झगड़ा हो सकता है।
सामान्य शकुन दवा:
ऐसा विश्वास किया जाता है कि दवा की शीशियों को इस्तेमाल के बाद फौरन लौटा देना चाहिए। एक धारणा के अनुसार यदि खाली बोतलों को फौरन वापस न किया जाए तो फिर दोबारा उनमें दवा लाने की जरूरत पड़ जाती है, यानि कोई घर में बिमार पड़ जाता है।
सामान्य शकुन दूध:
सुबह जागने के फौरन बाद दूध का दिखना अत्यन्त शुभ माना जाता है। यह विश्वास भारतीय ग्रामीण क्षेत्रों में सबसे अधिक है। पुरे यूरोप में दूध का गिरना अशुभ माना जाता है। क्योंकि दूध को परियों का प्रिय भोजन मानते हैं और यदि उन्हें एक बार फर्श पर बिखरा हुआ दूध मिल जाए तो वे उसी घर में निवास बना लेती हैं।
सामान्य शकुन दर्पण:
दुनिया भर में सबसे प्राचीन और सबसे अधिक स्वीकृत धारणा दर्पण के विषय में यह है कि यदि यह आपके हाथ से गिर कर टूट जाए तो कम से कम सात साल तक संकट का समय रहता है। यह धारणा क्यों बनी यह समय के साथ-साथ धुंधला हो चूका है। लेकिन संभवतः इसका कारण यह है कि दर्पण में दिखने वाला व्यक्ति का प्रतिबिम्ब दरअसल उसकी आत्मा होती है। यानि दर्पण का टूटना उस आत्मा का छिन्न-भिन्न हो जाना है, इसलिए व्यक्ति को कष्ट होता है और काफी समय लगता है, आत्मा को दोबारा संगठित होने में। कहीं-कहीं यह भी माना जाता है कि यदि आपके हाथ से शीशा टूट जाए तो आपका सबसे अच्छा दोस्त आप से बिछुड़ जाता है।
इस श्राप से मुक्ति का एक निदान यह है कि टूटे हुए शीशे का टुकड़ा इकट्ठा कर लिया जाए और उसे किसी तेज बहती हुई नदी में फेंक दिया जाए। इससे संकट टल जाता है। अमेरिका और यूरोप में शीशे के टूटते ही कुछ पैसों को नदी में फेंकने की भी प्रथा है। दर्पण के विषय में यह भी प्रसिद्ध है कि मोमबत्ती की रोशनी में व्यक्ति को दर्पण में अपनी छाया नहीं देखनी चाहिए और एक साल का होने तक किसी बच्चे को दर्पण की तरफ घूरकर देखने से बचाना चाहिए। यह भी माना जाता है कि किसी नववधु को अपनी पूरी शादी की पोशाक में दर्पण में अपना प्रतिबिम्ब नहीं देखना चाहिए। पर यदि वर और वधु दोनों एक साथ दर्पण में अपना प्रतिबिम्ब देखते हैं तो उनकी आयु बढ़ती है।
सामान्य शकुन पैसा:
यह विश्वास बनाए रखने के लिए कि तुम्हारे पास हमेशा पैसा रहेगा, एक पुरानी कथा है कि पैसे कपड़ों की हरेक जेब में रखो और उनमें से कुछ को खर्च मत करो।
सामान्य शकुन सुई:
यदि सुबह उठते ही मुंह से सुई शब्द निकल जाए तो अशुभ होता है और यह भी अशुभ होता है कि कोई सुई गली में पड़ी मिले, जिसमें सूत का काला धागा हो। यदि सोते समय सुई टूट जाए तो माना जाता है कि कोई शादी आने वाली है। लेकिन इंग्लैंड के गांव में इसे अशुभ माना जाता है और यह भी अशुभ है कि किसी को सुई उधार दी जाए, क्योंकि यह उनकी मित्रता को कमजोर करती है।
सामान्य शकुन तेल:
जिस तरह तेल के दाम निरन्तर बढ़ रहे हैं, उससे लगता है कि पुरानी यूनानी कहावत ठीक है कि तेल का बिखरना एक अशुभ लक्षण है और निर्धनता बढ़ाता है।
सामान्य शकुन फोटोग्राफ:
आज की दुनिया में ऐसे भी लोग बहुत हैं जो अपना फोटो खिंचवाना पसंद नहीं करते। वे मानते हैं कि फोटो खिंचवाने से दुर्भाग्य आएगा। इस धारणा का एक कारण यह है कि चेहरे को प्राचीन काल में आत्मा का प्रतिबिम्ब माना जाता था और इसकी तस्वीर उतारना लगभग ऐसा है, जैसे आत्मा को शरीर से अलग करना। जो भी किसी व्यक्ति का फोटोग्राफ अपने पास रखेगा या उसका प्रभाव उस व्यक्ति पर होगा, वह उसका अनिष्ट करना चाहेगा तो इस तस्वीर के माध्यम से कर सकेगा।
सामान्य शकुन ताश:
ताश की लोकप्रियता पूरे विश्व में है। फिर भी इनको कोयले की खदानों और मछुआरों में संदेह की नजर से देखा जाता है। उनका मानना है कि ताश संकट लाती है और उस समय तो विशेष तौर से जब मछुआरे समुद्र में हों। ताश का एक लोकप्रिय नाम ‘शैतान का एलबम’ भी है, जिससे इनके विषय में जो आशंकाएं हैं उनका ब्यौरा मिलता है। इसलिए यह माना जाता है कि ताश से भविष्य बताया जा सकता है। एक अंधविश्वास यह है कि कोई भी चोर चोरी करते समय ताश नहीं चुराता। वे ऐसा मानते हैं कि ताश चुराने से भाग्य उनके विरुद्ध हो जाएगा। अन्य विश्वासों में से एक यह भी है कि ताश की गड्डी में से कुछ पत्ते जुएं में बईमानी करने के काम आते हैं।
सामान्य शकुन रेजर/उस्तरा:
किसी दोस्त या संबंधी को उस्तरा देना अशुभ माना जाता है, क्योंकि यह उनकी दोस्ती को काट सकता है। दुनिया भर के देशों में उस्तरे को दुर्भाग्यपूर्ण और अशुभ माना जाता है।
सामान्य शकुन नमक:
नमक के विषय में बहुत धारणा प्रसिद्ध हैं। कम ही लोग जानते होंगे कि यदि किसी से नमक बिखर जाए और वह चुटकी भर नमक बाएं कंधे के ऊपर से पीछे न फेंके तो उस पर भारी संकट आता है। पूरी दुनिया में यह मान्यता प्रचलित है, लेकिन इसके मूल कारण को कोई नहीं जानता। ऐसा हो सकता है कि प्राचीन लोग नमक को बहुत पवित्र और कीमती चीज मानते थे। यह बहुत आवश्यक था लेकिन इसको प्राप्त करना बहुत मुश्किल था। नमक को बायीं तरफ से पीछे इसलिए फेंका जाता है क्योंकि बायीं तरफ चुडैलो का वास होता है।
यूरोप के कुछ देशों में सूखे नमक को बिखेरना शकुन है, पर गीला नमक बिखर जाना अपशकुन माना जाता है। ऐसा भी मानते हैं कि बच्चों को दुरात्माओं से बचाने के लिए नमक का प्रयोग किया जाता है। यूरोप में कुछ लोग हमेशा थोड़ा सा नमक अपनी जेब में रखते हैं, जिससे कि रात के समय वे बुरे शकुन से स्वयं को बचा सकें।
सामान्य शकुन कैंची:
कैंची के विषय में यह धारणा यह है कि यदि कैंची आपके हाथ से छुट कर गिर जाए तो उसे दोबारा उठाना अपशकुन है। कैंची को किसी ओर से उठवाना चाहिए। यदि आपके पास कोई न हो और आप अकेले हों और कोई अन्य उठाने वाला न हो तो श्राप से मुक्त होने के लिए कैंची को उठाकर दोनों हाथों से रगड़ना चाहिए, जब तक कि वह गरम न हो जाए। क्योंकि कैंची स्टील की बनी होती है और स्टील पवित्र माना जाता है। इसलिए रगड़ने से इसकी शक्ति जागृत हो जाती है और कैंची का मालिक संकट से बच जाता है।
यदि कैंची गिरे और उसका एक ब्लेड धरती में गड़ जाए तो यह मृत्यु का संकेत है और यदि यह धरती में गड़कर टूट जाए तो गहरी निराशा कैंची के मालिक को मिलेगी। बहुत से लोग मानते हैं कि यदि कोई भेंट स्वरूप कैंची दे तो स्वीकार नहीं करनी चाहिए। यदि स्वीकार करनी ही हो तो एवज में एक चांदी का सिक्का कैंची देने वाले को देना चाहिए।
सामान्य शकुन आटा:
शकुन के रूप में आटा लाभ दायक होता है। रसोईघर में गृहिणी आटा गूंथ रही हो और थोड़ा सा आटा उछले तो घर में मेहमान के आने की सूचना होती है। यह मेहमान कुछ दिन ठहरकर वापस जाता है।
सामान्य शकुन जूता:
विवाह के अवसर पर वधू की पीठ पर पुराना जूता लटकाना या वर की कार से जूता बांध देना विवाह के अवसर की आवश्यक रस्म है। इन रस्मों का मूल कारण खोजना असंभव है। केवल पुश्त-दर-पुश्त माना जाता रहा है कि इस तरह विदा होती कार पर जूता बांधना एक शुभ लक्षण है। इस प्रथा का व्यापक जिक्र बाइबिल में भी आता है। अब लोग महसूस करते हैं कि दरअसल यह प्रथा अच्छे काम के लिए नहीं है, बल्कि माता-पिता के संरक्षण से लड़की का जाना और पति के संरक्षण में आना इस प्रथा का आधार है। वधू के पिता द्वारा लड़की का जूता फेंकना और पति का उसे उठा लेना यह बताता है कि लड़कियां पति की सम्पत्ति हो गईं।
