Energized Rosary/Siddh Mala (सिद्ध माला): For the worship and rituals of almost all the gods and goddesses, the frequent Chanting of some mantras is compulsory with definite number according to the God and the Goddess each for the fulfilment of desires. In this case Energized Rosary is the best means to count beads for counting the mantra.

It has been asked why there are only 108 beads in a Mala neither more nor less?

According to astronomy there are 27 constellations (group of stars) in the universe and each constellation (group of stars) has four quadrants (Charan) hence there are 27×4 = 108 quadrants in all. The constellation has again been divided into 12 equal parts corresponding to 12 signs of zodiac and there are only 9 planets in the universe if we multiply them together the result will be 108 [12×9 = 108]. Thus 108 is the best number to join the Individual consciousness with the Absolute Consciousness.

There are many kinds of Energized Rosary used in spiritual & meditation purposes

A Energized Rosary consists of a collection of beads, and is used either for wearing in the neck (Mala), or counting while chanting/reciting Mantras (Jap Mala). The number of beads could be 27, 54 or 108, with one extra bead at the knot, called ‘Sumeru’ bead.

The Energized Rosary can either have the same kinds of beads, or a mixture of beads which are complimentary to each other – These beads could be Rudraksha, Basil or ‘Tulsi‘, Coral, Rock crystal or ‘Sphatik‘ beads.

The word ‘Japa’ means chanting a mantra repetitively or repetitive recital of mantra. Japa also means meditation performed with the focus on an object of divinity. What is Rosary?

How to do Chanting Meditation?

Chanting of mantra was a concept of the Vedic saints that includes mantras as one of the main forms of worship, whose end is seen as salvation. Basically, Mantra chanting means repeating the mantra.It is believed that through mantra chanting, the devotee attains concentration and focus on the chosen deity or the main idea of the mantra. One can attain peace of mind quickly by chanting mantra. With prolong and constant practice, the inherent power of the Mantra (Mantra-Shakti) will be awakened, which will fill your very existence with the Divinity of the Mantra.

  • Select any Mantra and repeat it from 108 to 1,080 times daily (one to ten malas).
  • Take a bath or wash your hands, feet, face and mouth before sitting for chanting in the morning.
  • Sit facing east or north during the practice. This enhances the effectiveness of the chanting.
  • Sit on a rug to conserve body-electricity. Sit in a separate meditation room or in any suitable place, such as a temple, on a river bank or under a banyan or Peepal tree.
  • Maintain a steady pose. You can sit in Padmasana, Siddhasana or Sukhasana. Resolve to complete a certain minimum number of malas/Energized Rosary before leaving your seat.

Use a Energized Rosary of 108 beads. Do not allow the rosary to hang below the navel. Each strand of chanting beads contains 108 small beads and one large bead, the head bead or the Sumeru bead. Begin on a bead next to the head bead and gently roll it between the thumb and middle finger of your right hand as you chant a full mantra. Then move to the next bead and repeat the process. In this way, chant on each of the 108 beads until you reach the head bead again. This is one round of chanting (Energized Rosary). Then, without chanting on the head bead, reverse the bead string and start your second round on the last bead you chanted on.

  • Do not chant mantra in haste. Do it slowly with feeling, concentration of mind and devotion.
  • Try to associate the chant with the rhythm of the breath and meditate in the form of your Deity. Keep a picture or idol of the Deity in front of you.
  • Think of the meaning of the Mantra while repeating it.
  • Observe silence and avoid distractions, calls and engagements. It is important not to leave the place at once after the chanting is over and mix with everyone or get into worldly activity (Energized Rosary). This keeps the spiritual vibrations intact.
  • One can leave the place after a dedicated prostration, with a feeling that everything belongs to that almighty. The Puja, Sadhana, Meditation and Jaap etc. any kind of prayers offered to the Almighty must be done with a sincere heart. The Supreme Being answers all the questions and doubts of the devotee, sooner or later. One must understand that the ultimate purpose of life is the realization of divine.

How do the Rudraksha Beads Work?

Found in Ancient Indian Scriptures and texts: From ancient times, the power of Holy Rudraksha beads have been scripted in various religious texts like ShivmahaPurana, Shreemadbhagwat, Padma Purana, ling Purana, Ashtamalikopnishad, Nirnayasindhoo, Mantramaharnava, Mahakal Samhita, Rudrakshajabalopnishad, Vrihajjabalopnishad, Shivaswarodaya and Sarvollastantra.

As per ancient Indian scriptures mentioned above Rudraksha is evolved from the eyes of Lord Shiva hence, it’s called Rudraksha. Rudra means Shiva and Aksha means eyes (Energized Rosary). Aksha also means a group of alphabets in Sanskrit called Varna). As per details found in Halayudh Kosa (Ancient Scripture) letters from A to ksha that is 51 letters are called Aksha. Therefore, Rudraksha can be called as a seed in which a group of Sanskrit letters called Varna reside.

Rudraksha beads work on different chakras of human body as well on different planets and invite blessings from Gods. They work best when worn on body. Touching skin is not necessary for Rudraksha beads to show effect. But method of wearing is very important. Different Types of Energized Rosary  (Siddh Mala):

Lotus-seed Rosary (Kamal Gatta Mala) – This mala(Energized Rosary) is used for the worship of Goddess Lakshmi for chanting her Mantra. Devotees often wear this mala around their necks after chanting.

Sumeru Bead of Energized Rosary:

Sumeru is a prominent bead, which is the central position of the rosary(Energized Rosary). The Sadhak while rotating the rosary during mantra chanting should not overtake this Sumeru while counting and from there he should count the recitation in the reverse order(Energized Rosary). This bead stores the energy of the chanting and should be touched on forehead after completion of chanting. For wearing malas this Sumeru bead transmits the energy of the complete circle of beads to the wearer.
