At one time, I was deeply troubled to see you asleep in a dreamlike state. This is because the human body people obtain with great difficulty.
Therefore, it is not appropriate for a wise person to be asleep at such a time after acquiring this human body.” After hearing these words from Lord Krishna, Arjuna humbly asked, “O friend of the needy, O Lord of the downtrodden! Please forgive any inadvertent offenses I committed as a servant. Hence, now kindly instruct me on which harmful actions I must abandon.”
Then Lord Krishna responded, “O friend! I will tell you those things that are not in the Vedas and are not in the knowledge of the gods. Hence, listen carefully and understand that anyone who hears or reads these teachings, or who lovingly accepts a copy of this or donates it to a Brahmin, will be freed from the bondage of sin and attain liberation.”

ये वचन श्रीकृष्ण जी के सुनके अर्जुन ने फिर विनती करके प्रश्न किया कि, हे दीनबंधु, दीनानाथ! जो अपराध सेवक से अनजाने बन आया है, वाको कृपा दृष्टि से क्षमा करके अब आप कृपा करके आज्ञा करो कि कौन-कौन से अहितकारी कर्मों का त्याग करना अवश्य है? तब श्रीकृष्ण जी ने उत्तर दिया कि, हे मित्र! जो बातें वेद से गुप्त हैं और देवताओं ने जानी नहीं हैं, सो तेरे आगे कहता हूँ৷ मन लगाकर सुन और इन शिक्षाओं को तू अथवा और कोई जो सुनेगा या पढ़ेगा, या प्रेमपूर्वक इसकी एक प्रति अंगीकार करेगा या ब्राह्मण को दान करेगा, सो पाप के बन्धन से छूटकर मुक्ति पावेगा৷
