Kamsutram Book
Kamsutram Book (कामसूत्रम् पुस्तक): According to the tradition mentioned in the Kamasutra, the creator of the universe, Prajapati Brahma, prepared a constitution consisting of one hundred thousand chapters on the means of Dharma, Artha, and Kama to regulate and organize human life. From that vast ocean of scriptures, the self-born son Manu compiled a distinct scripture focusing on Dharma, the Manu Smriti.
Regarding the section related to Artha from that Brahma-quoted constitution, Acharya Brihaspati created a separate text called the Brihaspatya Artha Shastra. Subsequently, Nandi, a follower of Mahadeva, separated the section related to Kama. Thereafter, compiled the Kama Sastra into one thousand chapters. Later, Shweta Ketu, condensed this Kama Sastra, as narrated by Nandi, into five hundred chapters.
After that, Bhava Bhadra, a resident of Panchala, further reduced the version. Which was edited by Shweta Ketu into one hundred and fifty chapters. Which included seven sections—ordinary, combined, concerning maidens, concerning wives, relating to the married, illicit, and Upanishadic. In this way, the creator of the universe, Prajapati, expounded the Kama Sutra, and Bhava Bhadra provided it in a scholarly form.
