Guru Ravidass Biography(महर्षि गुरु रविदास) : The details of Ravidas’ life are not well known. Most scholars state he was born on 31st January 1450, and died about 1520. Ravidas(Guru Ravidass Biography) was born in the village of Seer Goverdhanpur, near Varanasi in what is now Uttar Pradesh, India. His birthplace is now known as Shri Guru Ravidas (Guru Ravidass Biography) Janam Asthan. Shri Guru Ravidass ji(Guru Ravidass Biography) was born in the 14th century (1377 most of the scholars says ) at Kashi (Varanasi), Uttar Pradesh in India, in a humble family of Baba Santokh Dass ji being as father and Mata Kalsa Devi ji as mother.

Since early childhood, Guru Ravidassji(Guru Ravidass Biography) was very much inclined to spirituality. Guruji used to go to attend holy discourses and showed great respect and devotion to holy men. This worried guruji’s parents and they tried to divert his attention by engaging him in their family profession of shoe making and repairing. Guruji (Guru Ravidass Biography) learned the profession, yet his love and devotion for God continued undiminished. With a view to make him more interested in worldly affairs, his father got him married to Mata Lona Devi at an early age. But even then it didn’t change his attitude or his behavior.

Now thoroughly disgusted, his father separated him from the family and asked them to manage their own affairs without taking him to partake of the legitimate share of the family property. He was made to stay in the backyard of his house. At the time of Guru Ravidass ji(Guru Ravidass Biography) the social system was very cruel and the low caste people were not allowed to go the temples for prayer, to schools for study, to enter into villages in daylight and were forced to live in huts far away rather than in houses in village. Since childhood Guruji(Guru Ravidass Biography) had a spiritual mind, spiritual thinking and complete devotion to search the real God from the cruel world.

Who gave him only obstacles to achieve his goals of spreading the Gods message of being everybody equal in all respects, irrespective of caste, color or a belief in any form of God and to spread a message that“God created man and not man created God”. Guru Ravidass Ji gave teachings on the lessons of universal brotherhood & tolerance. Influenced by Guru Ravidass’s(Guru Ravidass Biography) teachings, the Maharaja and the Rani of Chittor became disciples of Guru Ravidass(Guru Ravidass Biography).  The famous saint poetess, Mirabai, also became a disciple of Guru Ravidass.

Guru Ravidass ji disappeared from this planet, leaving behind only his footprints in 1527. The Adi Granth of Sikhs, and Panchvani of the Hindu warrior-ascetic group Dadupanthis are the two oldest attested sources of the literary works of Ravidas(Guru Ravidass Biography). In the Adi Granth, forty of Ravidas’s poems are included, and he is one of thirty six contributors to this foremost canonical scripture of Sikhism. This compilation of poetry in Adi Granth responds to, among other things, issues of dealing with conflict and tyranny, war and resolution, and willingness to dedicate one’s life to the right cause.

Ravidas’s(Guru Ravidass Biography) poetry covers topics such as the definition of a just state where there are no second or third class unequal citizens the need for dispassion. Who is a real Yogi. Jeffrey Ebbesen notes that, just like other Bhakti sant-poets of India and some cases of Western literature authorship, many poems composed by later era Indian poets have been attributed to Ravidas(Guru Ravidass Biography), as an act of reverence, even though Ravidas(Guru Ravidass Biography) has had nothing to do with these poems or ideas expressed therein.

श्री संत गुरु रविदास जी (Guru Ravidass Biography) 15वें सदी के एक महान संत, दार्शनिक, कवि, समाज सुधारक और भगवान् के अनुनायी थे। वो एक बहुत ही महान निर्गुण संप्रदाय के संत थे जिन्होंने उत्तर भारतीय भक्ति आंदोलन का नेतृत्व किया था। उन्होंने कई भक्ति और सामाजिक संदेशों को अपने लेखन के माध्यम से अपने भक्तों, अनुनायियों, समुदाय और समाज के लोगों के लिए इश्वर के प्रति प्रेम भाव को दर्शाया। महर्षि गुरु रविदास (Guru Ravidass Biography) लोगों के लिए मसीहा के रूप में एक व्यक्ति थे जिन्हें लोग पूजते थे। उनके जन्म महोत्सव के दिन लोग महान धार्मिक गीतों, दोहों और पदों को रात दिन आज भी सुनते हैं। वैसे तो उनको पुरे विश्व भर में सम्मान दिया जाता है परन्तु उत्तर प्रदेश, पंजाब, और महाराष्ट्र में उनके भक्ति आंदोलन और भक्ति गीत को कुछ अलग ही अच्छा सम्मान दिया जाता है।

महर्षि गुरु रविदास(Guru Ravidass Biography) का जन्म 15वें शताब्दी के एक दलित  परिवार में ३१ जनवरी को वाराणसी, उत्तर प्रदेश में हुआ था। उनकी माता का नाम माता कलसा देवी जी था और उनके पिता का नाम संतोख दस् जी था। हलाकि उनका सही जन्म तिथि आज तक मालूम नहीं लग पाया है परन्तु अनुमान लगाया जाता है की उनका जन्म 1376, 1377, और 1399 के बिच हुआ था। उनके पिता राजा नगर मल के राज्य में सरपंच थे और उनके खुद का जूता बनाने और ठीक करने का व्यापार भी था। रविदास जी बहुत ही निडर थे और बचपन से ही भगवान के प्रति भक्ति उनके ह्रदय में थी। उनको बहुत सारे उच्च जातियों द्वारा बनगए नियमों और मुश्किलों का सामना भी करना पड़ा था जिसका ज़िक्र उन्होंने अपने लेखों में भी किया है।

उच्च जाती के लोगों और ब्राह्मणों ने उनकी शिक्षा के समय राजा के समय भी यह शिकायत किया की इस दलित व्यक्ति को भगवान का नाम लेने के लिए मना किया जाये। बचपन में महर्षि गुरु रविदास(Guru Ravidass Biography) अपने गुरु, पंडित शारदा नन्द पाठशाला में पढने के लिए गए परन्तु कुछ उच्च जाति के लोगों द्वारा उन्हें वहां पढने के लिए मन किया गया। परन्तु उनके विचारों को देख पंडित शारदा नन्द को भी यह एहसास हुआ की रविदासजी बहुत ही प्रतिभाशाली हैं और उन्होंने रविदासजी को पाठशाला में दाखिला दे दिया और उन्हें पढ़ाने लगे।

रविदास जी(Guru Ravidass Biography) बहुत ही अच्छे और बुद्धिमान बच्चे थे और पंडित शारदा नन्द से शिक्षा प्राप्त करने के साथ वो एक महान समाज सुधारक बने। पाठशाला में पढाई करते हुए पंडित शारदा नन्द जी का पुत्र उनका मित्र बन गया। महर्षि गुरु रविदास(Guru Ravidass Biography) ने बेगमपुर शहर का बीड़ा उठाया और लोगों को सही मार्ग दिखया। बेगमपुर शहर को उन्होंने एक आदर्श शहर के रूप में अपने दोहों में बताते हुए एक बिना मुश्किलों का, बिना डर का, बिना किसी जाति भेदभाव और गरीबी वाला, शहर बताया है।  और एक ऐसा जगह कहा है जहाँ – ना कोई कर देता है, ना कोई चिंता है, और ना ही कोई दहशत है।

महर्षि गुरु रविदास(Guru Ravidass Biography) मीरा बाई के धार्मिक गुरु हुआ करते थे। मीरा बाई राजस्थान के राजा की बेटी और चित्तोर की रानी थी। वे रविदास जी की शिक्षा से बहुत अधिक प्रभावित थी और वे उनकी एक बड़ी अनुयायी बन गई थी। मीरा बाई ने अपने गुरु के सम्मान में कुछ पक्तियां भी लिखी थी, जैसे – ‘गुरु मिलया रविदास जी..’ मीरा बाई अपने माँ बाप की एकलौती संतान थी, बचपन में इनकी माता के देहांत के बाद इनके दादा ‘दुदा जी’ ने इनको संभाला था। दुदा जी रविदास जी के बड़े अनुयाई थे, मीरा बाई अपने दादा जी के साथ हमेशा रविदास जी से मिलती रहती थी। जहाँ वे उनकी शिक्षा से बहुत प्रभावित हुई. शादी के बाद मीरा बाई ने अपनी परिवार की रजामंदी से रविदास जी को अपना गुरु बना लिया था।

भारत के इतिहास के अनुसार बाबर मुग़ल साम्राज्य का पहला शासक था, जिसने 1526 में पानीपत की लड़ाई जीत कर, दिल्ली में कब्ज़ा किया था। बाबर गुरु रविदास जी(Guru Ravidass Biography) के आध्यात्मिक शक्तियों के बारे में बहुत अच्छे से जानता था, वो उनसे मिलना चाहता था। फिर बाबर, हुमायूँ के साथ उनसे मिलने जाता है, वो उनके पैर छुकर उन्हें सम्मान देता है। महर्षि गुरु रविदास(Guru Ravidass Biography) उसे आशीर्वाद देने की जगह उसे दंडित करते है, क्यूंकि उसने बहुत से मासूम लोगों मारा था। गुरु जी बाबर को गहराई से शिक्षा देते है, जिससे प्रभावित होकर बाबर रविदास जी का अनुयाई बन जाता है और अच्छे सामाजिक कार्य करने लगता है।
